WHO WE ARE

Dezső Mező, Managing Director of DField Systems

I'm Dezső Mező, and I operate an independent engineering consultancy as DField Systems, part of the family-owned DField Kft.

As a freelancer, I build on 25+ years of professional experience gained across EPC, OEM, and owner/operator environments, primarily in gas turbine and combined-cycle power plants. I bring a full-lifecycle project perspective to every assignment, connecting technical details with their operational, maintenance, and commercial implications.

I work through a simple and efficient operating model from my base in Dunakeszi, Hungary. My work is defined by precision, sound engineering judgment, and personal accountability. Where it provides genuine value, I use modern AI tools to support research, analysis, and documentation; while always taking personal responsibility for every engineering decision, technical deliverable, and final outcome.

EPC contractor side – Siemens PGA / VA TECH Hydro (Combined-Cycle Division, Vienna)

  • Termoli CCPP, Italy – 800 MW (2×GT + 1×ST) – I&C design and full fieldbus system design + installation supervision and commissioning
  • Ankara CCPP, Turkey – 800 MW (2×GT + 1×ST) – I&C installation supervision and commissioning
  • Csepel II CCPP, Hungary – 400 MW (2×GT + 1×ST) – I&C installation supervision and commissioning, warranty engineering

OEM side – GE Energy (Contract Performance Manager)

  • Heavy-duty gas-turbine LTSAs / CSAs (GE 9E, 6FA) across Central & Eastern Europe – contract management, planned & unplanned outages, upgrade opportunities

Owner / operator side – MVM Balance (Head of Capital Projects, 6-plant GT fleet, ~€70 M / 9 yrs)

  • North-Buda GT3 replacement – complete block replacement (RR RB211 → Solar Titan 250 PG); technical project management and lead technical role, from ideation to operation
  • Ajka turbine-controls upgrade – dual Trent 60 control-system replacement; technical project management and technical oversight
  • Ajka Trent 60 workshop inspection and upgrades (two units, separate projects) – technical project management and technical oversight
  • Other control-system, equipment and infrastructure upgrades; regulatory fuel-tank projects; owner's engineer support

Independent – DField Systems (2025–present)

  • 30 MW gas turbine-driven unit – technical document review and O&M manual development
  • Combined-cycle plant design-localisation – independent technical review and proposal support, comprehensive technical description for permit

Recognition – Ministerial Recognition Certificate, 2022 – Hungarian Ministry for Technology and Industry, for outstanding professional activity as power-plant capital project department head.
