INTRODUCTION
ABOUT ME
I’m Dezső Mező, the engineer behind DField Systems.
DField Systems is my independent engineering consultancy, and a business unit of DField Kft., our family-owned company in Hungary.
I bring more than 25 years of gas turbine and combined-cycle power-generation experience from three sides of the table: I&C design, installation supervision and commissioning for an EPC contractor; service contract performance management for a gas turbine OEM; and nine years on the owner/operator side leading a capital-project portfolio of approximately €70 million and its major projects.
That breadth means I read a technical detail together with its operational, maintenance, contractual and commercial consequences, in context rather than in isolation.
Every engagement is led by me personally. There is no delegation to junior staff, and no OEM or contractor affiliation to work around. Where they earn their place, I use selected AI tools to support research, analysis and documentation. The professional judgement, conclusions and deliverables remain mine.
My role is to help you identify what matters, expose what remains uncertain, and make technically sound decisions with a clear view of their wider project and asset consequences.
A full project perspective
EXPERIENCE FROM EVERY MAJOR SIDE OF THE PROJECT
The same technical decision looks different depending on who must specify it, price it, finance it, design it, build it, guarantee it, accept it or operate it.
My experience from the EPC, OEM and owner/operator sides allows me to examine those positions together. This helps expose assumptions, interface gaps and delivery risks that are easily missed when a problem is viewed from only one part of the project.
EPC project deliveryEngineering, integration and execution
Within VA TECH / Siemens PGA, I participated in three international CCGT new-build projects of 400 and 800 MW (Csepel II, Ankara and Termoli) covering I&C design, full fieldbus system design, installation supervision, commissioning and warranty engineering.
A broad practical foundation in multidisciplinary engineering, plant integration, contractor and interface coordination, and delivery under contractual and EPC responsibility.
GT OEM servicesLifecycle scope and obligations
Within GE Energy (now GE Vernova Gas Power), I managed long-term service and maintenance agreements (LTSA/CSA) for heavy-duty gas turbines (GE 9E, 6FA) across Central Europe.
This provided direct insight into how an OEM defines service scope, allocates lifecycle risk, builds up the contractual model, organises delivery, manages technical and commercial obligations, and determines what it can credibly stand behind.
Owner and operator sideInvestment planning, delivery and asset responsibility
At MVM Balance, I led an owner-side capital-project portfolio of approximately €70 million over nine years across a fleet of six gas turbine plants (nine GT units, five different types).
Selected projects: the North-Buda GT3 unit replacement (RR RB211 to Solar Titan 250 PG) from concept to handover into operation; complete gas turbine control system upgrades; gas turbine workshop overhauls; further plant and infrastructure upgrades; and the tendering and conclusion of framework agreements. The role connected investment decisions with execution, outage constraints, compliance, acceptance, operability and long-term asset value.

Through DField Systems, I bring these perspectives and this breadth of experience together in engagements for clients who want their projects delivered with confidence.
Recent assignments include O&M documentation for a gas turbine unit, and technical support for a CCGT project permitting documentation.
Recognition – Ministerial Certificate of Recognition, 2022, awarded by the Hungarian Ministry for Technology and Industry for outstanding professional activity as a power-plant capital-project department lead.

Whether I am leading a workstream, carrying out a design review, witnessing a test or providing an independent professional opinion, these principles apply to every assignment.
Thorough decision support, not just reporting
When a decision is required, I distil the relevant facts, options, consequences, recommendation and residual risk so that the decision-maker can focus on the decision itself, rather than on processing the information.
Facts, assumptions, open issues and risks stay separate
It always remains clear what we know, what we assume, what still needs to be clarified and what risks need to be managed – together with the required actions, owners and status.
Priorities are determined by consequences
Safety, technical, operational, schedule, cost and contractual consequences determine what comes first – not the noise of the moment, pressure or the loudest voice.
Independent professional judgement, stated plainly
I assess designs, proposals and established positions on their technical merits and supporting evidence; where something is not technically substantiated, I state that clearly and constructively.
Issues closed, open points visible, records current
Open issues have a clear owner, next step and status; closed matters are documented, and the project record remains up to date and reflects the actual state.
Clear scope, agreed changes
The purpose, boundaries, expected outcomes and responsibilities of the assignment are made clear; if the scope changes, it is the result of a jointly agreed, deliberate decision.
Direct delivery and professional boundaries
PRINCIPAL-LED MEANS PERSONALLY ACCOUNTABLE
Every engagement is led and directly delivered by me. Where additional specialist input is needed, it is identified and agreed in advance. I remain personally accountable for the conclusions and deliverables issued by DField Systems.
I work on my client’s side of the project and represent their interests, within the authority and responsibilities defined for the engagement – while retaining independent professional judgement.
Every engagement is conflict-checked. Scope, authority, reliance, confidentiality, interfaces and exclusions are agreed before work begins.
